Not many houses get a second chance, but the Takeley Barn has really moved up in the world. The original construction took place circa 1650, in the town of Takeley, England. This solid oak, post and beam structure was dismantled and shipped to Utah where it became a luxury estate after considerable planning and craftsmanship.
The Story
"This started in 1977, when we saw an article about timber frames being exported from England," says the current owner. The entire structure was disassembled and stored for more than 15 years while the homeowners searched for the perfect location and diligently planned every detail with architects and craftsmen.
Finally, construction began high above Park City where the home stands today and provides panoramic views of both Park City and Deer Valley ski resorts. Historic Main Street, Deer Valley Resort, and Park City Mountain Resort are all within one short, scenic mile.
The Great Room
The great room, which was the main portion of the original construction, is the heart of this home. Filled with personal touches, antiques, and comfortable furnishings, the great room is a great spot to gather with family and friends. A large, double fireplace separates this room into a dining area, complete with custom wood table built by the homeowner, and a living area.
Kitchen
For the gourmet chef, this kitchen provides plenty of workspace, storage space, and high-end appliances. The homeowner has installed a custom copper center island that adds special touch to the room.
Just off the kitchen is a breakfast nook with cozy seating for 4.
The Details
A custom staircase leads to the upstairs where guests will find a luxurious master bedroom and guest room, both with en-suite bathrooms, a study, and a loft- complete with a daybed for extra guests.
Head down to the lower level of the home and discover a sports bar with large sitting area, gas fireplace, and large TV. On this level, there are three master guest suites, each with en-suite bathrooms. Traveling with an infant? This special home offers a nursery attached to one of the master suites for the ultimate privacy and comfort. There are two bunk rooms on this level- great for the kids!

A valid credit card is required to secure your reservation. 50% of the reservation total is due at the time of booking, full payment is taken 60 days prior to arrival. Reservations are not guaranteed until we receive a signed confirmation back.
Payments
Full payment is due 60 days prior to arrival. Bookings made less than 60 days prior to arrival must be paid in full at time of booking.
Cancellation Policy
If canceled within 48 hours of initial booking, no fees are assessed. Cancellations made after 48 hours and outside 60 days forfeit the 50% deposit. Cancellations within 60 days of arrival are non-refundable.
