Bobsledding:
This is the winter activity at Utah Olympic Park. Experience the same rush as the 2002 Olympians on a 60+ mph run on a real bobsled. Their seasoned bobsled pilots will take you around the twists and turns of the actual Olympic course! You’ll feel white-knuckle speeds and face crushing g-forces you won’t soon forget as you rocket down the mountain. They call it the Comet Bobsled for a good reason!
Extreme Tubing:
Maybe you’re not ready to strap on competition skis and go sailing through the air off the Nordic jumps. But you can get a taste of action with the help of extreme tubing. Trade the skis for an inflatable tube and soar down the landing hill of the enormous jumps that make this Park City Olympic park such a landmark.
If you aren’t ready for quite so much adrenaline but you still want to go tubing, check out Park City’s other options.
Winter Zip Line:
If you’re ready to feel what it’s like to go sailing into the sky off a Nordic jump, try the zip line. Ride up the Nordic chairlift and gear up before gliding down any of the park’s seven new zip lines. Riders will cross through a scenic landscape more than 150 feet off the ground at speeds approaching 40 mph. This is as close as you can get to the real Nordic jump experience without donning skis.
Museums:
There’s more to Utah Olympic Park than high-speed adventure. The park is also home to two fascinating museums that help preserve the unique character and history of Park City. Guests can check out both the Alf Engen Ski Museum and the Eccles Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games Museum. Both are entirely free of charge and offer a variety of guided or self-directed tours. Interactive displays, videos, virtual reality, maps, and artifacts tell Park City’s story as a world-class ski destination and host for
Summer Activities
Park City hosted tons of events for the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympic Games. The Olympic spirit lives on at Utah Olympic Park-a unique year-round destination for high-speed thrills, world-class sports facilities, and historical exploration.
Events and activities are available during both the winter and summer seasons. You can explore free exhibits and partake in one-of-a-kind adventures any time of the year.
Alpine Slide:
A unique gravity-powered roller coaster, the alpine slide is a huge stainless-steel track equipped to provide you with a smooth, scenic, and exciting tour of some of the most beautiful landscapes in Park City. Speed through straightaways, drops, and turns as you descend from the mountain in style. It’s the best slide you’ve ever been on.
Looking for even more information about the alpine slide? We have an entire page dedicated to it. You can find it here.
Ropes Courses:
Test your strength, agility, problem-solving skills, and courage on a suspended obstacle course. Guests are secured to safety lines and then presented with a series of nets, bridges, wires, and other features designed to give your body and brain a full workout. For the daring, Utah Olympic Park offers courses up to 55 feet off the ground. They aren’t all so intense, with child-friendly courses appropriate for little limbs and tiny hearts that only take youngsters a mere 10 feet from terra firma.
Drop Tower:
You can’t go bungee jumping at Park City’s Olympic park, but you can get pretty close. The drop tower starts with a fun zip line excursion before strapping guests to a 65-foot resistance cable and letting them drop safely to earth. It’s a little less intimidating than a full-blown bungee jump while still offering the feeling of a controlled fall.
Airbag Jumps:
Get in touch with your inner stuntman. Leap into a large, puffy airbag from the height of your choosing to get a taste of action-movie excitement. You can leap from five, 10, or 15 feet onto your back in total safety. Get a taste of pure gravity and walk away without a scratch. Just remember, no flipping allowed here. It’s safer for everyone that way
Other Summer Options:
Many of your favorite winter activities are also available during the summer. The bobsled trades its blades for wheels to run on concrete once the ice melts. The extreme tubing jumps are adapted to glide without snow thanks to innovative track material and water. And the zip lines work just as well in any weather. Museums are open all year round. You haven’t missed out on these Park City Olympic adventures just because of sunny days.
